Elementalist/Monk Griffon Farmer
I've been messing around with elementalist farming builds the last couple days, and have been tweaking a guy to clear out the Augury griffons quickly. Here's the guy I was using last night - he can take three packs of griffons/minos easily, four with a bit of effort:
Elementalist/Monk
Ether Renewal
Aura of Restoration
Armor of Earth
Kinetic Armor
Whirlwind
Aftershock
Crystal Wave
Essence Bond
Earth Magic 12 + 4
Energy Storage 11 + 1
Air Magic 6 + 1
In addition you want a weapon with a 19+% enchanting part. That will give you an 8 second Ether Renewal, and more importantly, a 10 second Kinetic Armor.
You play the build as follows:
Essence Bond always stays up and fixes your energy (duh). Cast Kinetic Armor right before you aggro the griffons. Cast Aura of Restoration and Armor of Earth as you run around collecting mobs, every 8 seconds or so, to buff up and keep your Kinetic Armor going.
Once you've collected the griffons, Whirlwind -> Aftershock as often as it recycles. Besides dealing a bunch of damage, this breaks aggro on several of the griffons as they 'run out of the AoE'. Of course they run right back after around 5 seconds to get hit by it again, so all their 'evasion' accomplished was saving you a bunch of health. =)
Just hit Crystal Wave whenever it's up and all the griffs are collected. Use Ether Renewal whenever health starts to dip down (usually from a flurry of Final Thrusts) - you'll normally want to combo Ether Renewal -> Armor of Earth -> Aura of Restoration -> Whirlwind -> Aftershock, which is good for 50 energy plus full health plus an aggro break. Against smaller mobs this lets you keep your energy going while you combo.
Just cycling Whirlwind -> Aftershock as quickly as they come up will keep Kinetic Armor up indefinitely, though the timing is tight. I prefer to cast another spell in between every cycle so I can time my Whirlwind -> Aftershock better - Crystal Wave when available, and you can re-cast Essence Bond for a bit of health if there's nothing else.
At 16 Earth you have 206 armor with Armor of Earth + Kinetic Armor, so most normal hits land for 2-3. You should drop a pack of griffs in under 30 seconds.
Peace,
-CxE

Devourers you run from, normally, there's rarely a reason to fight with them around.
Personally, I ignore Devourers, just make sure you stay at range. All of your spells are fast enough that they shouldn't get interrupted unless you chain cast, so just play tight and they'll never hit a thing. It only gets ugly if there are a bunch of devourers, but if that's the case you should just break aggro and try again.
I run an Ele/Mes version with Channeling instead of Essence Bond (and a bit less Air Magic because of it) - energy is a bit tighter, but it might be stronger against Devourers by giving you another spell to pump Kinetic with. YMMV.
Peace,

hi
I'm using the same build with 16 earth 9 air 11 energy storage, it works very well, i just hit the road each time i see devourers
Not exactly playing like you because using galigord's wand & collector's earth focus instead of %enchanting staff, i feel ok. I just switch to staff if i think i'll need some kind of 'keyboard rest'
I'm very large on energy most of the fight, and barely have issue with cooldown to pump up kinetic, but it happens sometime when there's near to too many mob. Biggest run end up in a >1min battle and eventually another one if im close to the next spots(sound like approx 16 mob at once)
I may give a try to channeling, but i'm affraid about energy for the long fight

THANKS !
This build is amazing.
I now realise I wasnt using Kinetic armour properly. Essence bond = nice.I had been using the `Mistform-channeling-fire aoe` build before, but this is WAY better. If you can pull a big group its amazing. I find the combo of: Crystal\whirlwind\aftershock works the best. Hell, ive even gone through Sand eles, Sand giants, Sand burrowers, (Hydras can be tricky) even those evil spiders that drop the jade mandibles. (just wish they would NERF Rockshots LOL)

The best part of this build was finally giving me an excuse to buy the Yakslapper.
That and dropping all Griffons in an obnoxiously short time

Sometime i feel i shall drop ether renewal for something that cast fast and have a short cooldown, just if i keep pulling moderatly that is. I still need ether on big pull, but for the healing part. I've sucessfully did some run with speed of wind instead of ether. This greatly help the pulling process...but on other hand it can be very deadly if your are taking too much mobs.
I've tryed with channeling, works nice also for "standard pull", but same issue i cant take as much mob as i can with ether, not enough heal when it's coming hot

Very, nice build. But, I don't use eles, so this would be a waste of a comment.

I have been working on an ele solo build with the same general idea, but i focus on earth, to deal more damage and save attrib points for more energy. Instead of whirwind i use earthquake, because of the high energy from having high stats it does more damage than whirlwind, but it is a bit tougher timing because of the not so long knockdown. If you can get around this it is nice to use. Also i swapped eccense bond with stone daggers, sounds crazy. what i did was as soon as i put on ether renewal i spammed stone daggers on the nearest enemy, since on the enchantments i gained a nice amount of energy from this, but it is a more timing based build than yours. good work, thanks for posting it

I 100% agree with you, Rockshots suck! But the build works great, tried it last night and had a profitable run.

Got a build similar to this, but you can substitute some ranger or warrior skills to evade Rockshots while collecting the griffons. As you can see, I went with the Ele/warrior build:
You can also do Hydras north of Augury:
Minotaurs are no problem. I can do at least 12 at a time and take almost no damage:

West exit of augury, follow the way and head always left, then you should be in the place.
